Month by month
• November to February is a period that is mainly devoted to pruning. The vine canes are shredded to be used as organic fertiliser when the land is tilled.
• May and June are the months for green pruning and, later, for shoot thinning (the removal of lateral shoots to improve canopy ventilation).
• June, July and August are the months when the vines are most prone to disease (oidium, botrytis, mildew) so one has to pay close attention and apply preventive treatments.
• In early September we begin to check on how the grapes are progressing on a daily basis, so we can start harvesting at the best moment.
